Your first step to start driving license course is to get a PKK number.
Course may be taken by a foreigner who has been staying in Poland for at least 6 months, has a document confirming legal stay in Poland.
All the above items for Pkk number can be obtain personally at City Hall in the department of communication.

HOW DO I START MY ADVENTURE WITH A DRIVER’S LICENSE?
We are obtaining a PKK number.
Obtaining a driving license may not be a complicated procedure, but it does require careful consideration. It is important to familiarize yourself with the necessary formalities related to obtaining a license. Equally important is choosing a driving training center that will properly prepare you for the state exam. Currently, people who meet the minimum age requirements for a specific driving license category can apply for a driving license. In the case of category B, this is 17 years and 9 months. A foreigner who has been in Poland for at least 185 days and has a document confirming legal residence in Poland can participate in a driving course.
What you need to prepare before your driving course.
- driving license application – open the file in a new window – download and fill it out at home or do it at the office,
- medical certificate,
- current photo. Check what a photo for a driving license should look like ,
- ID card or passport. If you are a foreigner, take your passport or residence card,
- a document confirming your registered address, such as an identity card, residence card or a certificate of permanent or temporary residence. The office can also check your registration in its system. If you do not have a registration, ask the official what to do,
- a copy of your current driving license – if you already have a driving license and want to get a permit for the next category,
- written consent from your parents or legal guardian – if you are about to turn 18. Go to the office with your parent or legal guardian – they must sign a document in front of the official, in which they agree to start the course and issue a driving license,
Driving license photo.
The photo should be:
- colorful,
- current – do it no earlier than 6 months before submitting the application,
- sharp (no visible pixels) and have natural contrast,
- made on a uniform light background,
- in dimensions: 35×45 mm.
The photo should show:
- the whole head,
- the image no further than the top of the shoulders,
- natural skin color,
- clearly the eyes, especially the pupils.
The face in the photo.
- look ahead,
- you cannot wear headgear, dark glasses or other items that could make it difficult to recognize you,
- keep your eyes open, don’t cover them with your hair,
- keep your facial expression natural and your mouth closed,
- the face should take up 70-80% of the photo,
- the outline of the head must be clear (no background overexposure is allowed).
Visual defects.
- If you have visual impairments, you can take a photo wearing dark glasses, but you must meet the following conditions:
- you must have a similar photo – with glasses – in your ID document,
- attach to the application a certificate of disability or a certificate of the degree of disability due to a congenital or acquired visual defect.
Headgear.
If you wear a head covering in accordance with your religion, you can wear it in the photo, but you must meet the following conditions:
- the whole face should be visible in the photo,
- you must have a similar photo – with a head covering – in your ID document,
- attach to the application a certificate of belonging to a religious community registered in Poland.

Medical examination for a driving license.
If you need a doctor who is qualified to conduct driver examinations, you have a few options. One option is to consult with a primary care physician who may have the necessary qualifications (A QUALIFIED DOCTOR). If your doctor does not have the required qualifications, they will probably be able to recommend someone who does. Another option is to search for a qualified doctor online, providing your location to ensure accurate results. Additionally, if you already know that you are choosing our driving school, you can contact us in advance for help in arranging the exam. Our driving school has established cooperation with doctors and can help facilitate this process. The current cost of this examination is PLN 200. When applying for a PKK number, you will be required to provide a document confirming the medical certificate stating that you have no contraindications to driving.
